Considered of as one of the top 10 Native artists in America, we are honored to be able to feature and talk with Margaret Jacobs. The images that come to mind when we think of Native art are often Native Americans on horseback, Dream Catchers, and oil paintings depicting a close up of someone in a Headdress or Native American clothing. While many of those pieces are amazing, there is a new brand of Native art taking this country by storm. Leading this charge is Margaret Jacobs, Mohawk, and recipient of the prestigious Harpo foundation fellowship. Jacobs takes the message of her culture and brings it to life in an amazing display of metal and wood showing us the resiliency of her people along with their struggles.
